The responsibilities of this role include:
  • Lead KPI management in South East Asia & Pacific (SEAP) BU through effective understanding, analysis, and reporting of key metrics such as sales, gross margin, Operating Profit, SG&A, Price, Productivity, Inflation, Costs footprint and coordinates related activities, driving consistent variance analysis to drive actual and forecasted results with a no surprise culture.
  • Develop proper working relationship with project management team, sales team and business leaders to proactively understand opportunities, drive business objectives and address risks, manage shipment phasing, proactively compare with market research to identify potential business growth opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities and drives process improvements/report rationalization/simplification projects to help with efficient operating mechanisms in the business and better quality of financial data.
  • Lead consolidation of SEAP BU financial results and be point of reference/contact with the company and Asia HQ FP&A teams, and drive collaboration with local teams in Singapore/Malaysia/Australia.  
  • Evaluate current financial process, roll up, policies and proposed ideas, plans and policies to recommend changes that will impact better governance and management of region financials and profitability.
  • Responsible for the long term financial outlook, ensuring accuracy of forecasts and current sales order backlog and future business opportunities across all lines of business.  
  • Support External and Internal Audit and Tax reporting requests.
    • Specific responsibilities include:
      • Perform monthly & quarterly financial planning and analysis for SEAP region.
      • Regular communication with sales and project management team relating to sales opportunity booking status and project shipment status.
      • Oversee project controlling for SEAP BU and ensure effective project controls as per ICD requirements. 
      • Regular communication with country finance team relating to financial close, issues and deliverables.
      • Communication with Regional and Group FP&A team to ensure compliance with information requests and reporting standards.  
      • Lead Consolidation and Simplification projects for financial processes and accounting.
      • Drive ERP utilization through administration of IFS, Cognos, chart of accounts and cost centres.
      • Support site managing director and business leaders with Business and Financial Analytics.
      • Internal group and regional reporting (including but not limited to):  
        • Weekly/Bi-weekly (WSO, WCR,QMI)  
        • Monthly (Form A1,A2,B,F, MBR, COGNOS reporting pack, Monthly Report)  
        • Quarterly (QBR, Quarterly Forecasting)
        • Annually (Budgeting and Five Year Plan)  
    • This position will report to Senior Finance Controller, SEAP 

The ideal candidate will need to have the following qualities and experience: 
  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting, 6-7 years of relevant accounting and work experience.
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and IFRS requirements.  
  • Meticulous & Attention for detail in the analysis process.
  • Effective Communication Skills (Written & Verbal).  
  • Ability to adapt quickly and learn new tasks independently.
  • Ability to produce accurate analysis in accordance with exacting standards and tight deadlines.  
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills.  
  • Understanding of accounting processes, procedure and internal controls.
  • Experience of ERP (preferably IFS) systems, reporting and consolidation tools (COGNOS)and advanced spreadsheet (Excel) skills.
  • Travelling is required: 10% of travelling per year
    • Competencies:
      • Focus in getting execution to identified solutions and stakeholders.
      • High proficiency in oral and written communication with excellent presentation skills.
      • Ability to own and drive with minimal supervision and limited resources.
      • Clear thinker and able to stand on one-self to understand the problem at hands.
