  JOB DESCRIPTION Our client, a tertiary education institute, is currently looking for a Manager, Senior Manager or Associate Director, Donor Relations, to join their esteemed organisation!

Reporting to the Team Leader, Donor Relations, this position is responsible for collaboratively engaging a portfolio of donor benefactors of the University on gift acknowledgement, donor recognition and maintaining accurate donor information.
The individual will develop and implement a customized engagement plan that is aligned to the donors’ philanthropic purposes and various University platforms in order to foster long-term relationships with benefactors to encourage lifetime giving to the University.
The typical candidate is driven to work in higher-education philanthropy and has demonstrated in their career track record excellent skills in written communication, detailed reporting on customer relationships, developing client portfolios and interpersonal engagement.

The duties of the incumbent will be:
  • Conceptualise, plan and manage customized stewardship plans for Donor portfolios.
  • Manage relationships with high net-worth Donors and plan activities that build affinity to the University.
  • Coordinate, plan, research and oversee production of personalized gift fulfilment reports.
  • Collaborate with the team responsible for prospecting major gifts to pro-actively manage donor stewardship needs.
  • Organise and engage Donors in appreciation events that inspire them to have a closer relationship with the University.
  • Develop, prepare and execute Donor surveys to improve understanding of Donor needs.
  • Liaise with Faculties to address matters related to gift fulfilment and personalized reports to the Donor.
  • Write excellent appreciation letters to major gift benefactors to the University.
  • Maintain timely and accurate reports in the donor database.
  • Serve as a contact point for Donors, when applicable.
  • Actively seek support and build strong working relationships with various stakeholders within the University.
  • Undertake and perform other duties as assigned. 

In order to be qualified for the role, you will need to have the following:
  • Degree from a recognised University.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in professions that demonstrate customer engagement skills.
  • Experience in Trusts, Foundations and Societies will be an added advantage.
  • Excellent team player and ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
  • Values philanthropy and a strong desire to contribute to community building.
  • Passion for the mission of the Development Office and the ability to inspire others in that mission.
