  JOB DESCRIPTION Our client, a diversified business conglomerate, is looking for a Chief Financial Officer to join their esteemed organisation!

This role will be responsible for the full spectrum of financial functions for the company including formulation and implementation of strategies and policies, financial management, corporate finance activities, treasury and fundraising operations and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results. The incumbent must be actively involved in all strategic and tactical matters relating to budget management, cost benefit analysis, forecasting needs and government regulatory compliance.

Principal accountabilities are:

  1. Provides leadership in the development for the continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives.
  2. Ensure credibility of Finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends and forecasts.
  3. Take hands-on lead position of developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive job cost system.
  1. Evaluates and advises on the impact of long range planning, introduction of new programs/ strategies and regulatory action.
  2. Assist in formulating the company's future direction and supporting tactical initiatives to align to business strategy.
  3. Monitor and direct the implementation of strategic business plans
  4. Develop financial and tax strategies
  5. Manage the capital request and budgeting processes
  6. Develop performance measures that support the company's strategic direction
  1. Provide executive management with advice on the financial implications of business activities. Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team
  2. Direct and manage all aspects of the Finance & Accounting functions of the organization including legal, tax, and treasury departments
  3. Implement operational best practices
  4. Supervise due diligence and negotiate acquisitions
Financial Information
  1. Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.
  2. Manage processes for financial forecasting, budgets, and consolidation and reporting to the Company
  3. Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
  4. Carry out the ABM (Activity Based Management) end to end month end process to timetable, resolving calculation issues and escalating issues to management where appropriate. This model is a critical enabler to all financial processes and decision making at Stakeholder level
  5. Perform monthly data reconciliations and highlight and resolve any issues. Perform the audit and assurance process of data used in systems
  6. Analyse and assess the appropriateness of cost assignments to products and customers generally in the monthly updates required to the model
  7. Heavily influence the operation and development of the ABC (Activity Based Costing) model and other appropriate enabling systems and sources to ensure the associated outputs are auditable, robust and remain fit for purpose
  8. Exploit the information within ABM to provide the appropriate management information and support to finance and other customers for control of expenditure and business case development.
Risk Management
  1. Understand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profile
  2. Monitor all open legal issues involving the company, and legal issues affecting the industry
  3. Construct and monitor reliable control systems
  4. Maintain appropriate insurance coverage
  5. Ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements
  6. Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies
  7. Report risk issues to the audit committee of the board of directors
  8. Maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations
  1. Monitor cash balances and cash forecasts
  2. Arrange for debt and equity financing
  3. Invest funds

What is required of the person in this role:
  • International structuring experience and marketing mindset for e.g. ex investment or Corp finance banker. 
  • Strong math and analysis skills are needed.
  • Must speak good Chinese
  • Familiar with ABC (Activity Based Costing), and operations
  • At least 10 years relevant experience holding similar capacity in Manufacturing Environment.
  • Business acumen, foresight, organizational skills and knowledge of global and regional economic and finance developments are key traits sought.
