This position head the EM (ROA) functions, accountable for EMs development, leads implementation of policies, standards, guidelines, develops innovative technologies and procedures for managing EMs, establishes and manages partnerships with strategic suppliers, to deliver strategic commitments. He / She manages with mutual partnership contracts and ensures proper risk assessments and capacity evaluations are performed regularly to prevent issues.
The responsibilities of this role are:
Lead the EM (ROA) Function for end-to-end deliverables – Sourcing, qualification and management of external (contract) manufacturing partners
Prepare strategic vendor contracts for long term partnership to deliver business needs (Assurance of supply/capacity, S&OP with CMO (Contract Manufacturing Organizations), Compliance, application of contract terms, value engineering & CIP, change management, operational performance management, Quality performance, NPI, product EOL, Inventory management, etc.)
Establish performance management system with External Parties
Ensures External Party capacity information (For Example stated capacity, firm capacity, future capacity plans, time horizon / lead times required, comments, concerns, etc) provisions for S&OP reviews
Drives alignment with Procurement and Supply Chain teams to review external data collected in advance of the S&OP to identify capacity issues and/or pinch points that should be highlighted through the appropriate escalation mechanism.
Stays abreast with industry and policy changes and identifies implications and opportunities for their area of EM
Is Go-to person for any new business evaluations
Develop and maintain vendor's intelligence (capability / capacity / benchmarking in general)
Ensure expectations of business and CMO capabilities are aligned
Participates in the annual business planning process, provides a monthly estimated actual on the organization's projected and actual spending and maintains a multiyear capital plan/budget.
Participates in the maintenance of a Continuous Improvement and Knowledge Sharing culture to ensure compliance to Global EM policies, procedures, templates, etc.
The ideal candidate will need to have the following qualities and experience:
At Minimum a Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in Engineering, Science and/or Business discipline
A minimum of 8 years of experience in commercial / business AND manufacturing (operations, quality, technology, planning) function required (or equivalent combination of education / experience).
Able to read and appreciates Mechanical and Electrical/Electronic Drawings
Experience in External and Contract Manufacturing, Supply Chain Processes & Quality Management system.
Past Experience with actual role in capital equipment contract manufacturing is highly desirable ; particularly dealing with contract management, operation/delivery management and quality management.
Strong interpersonal, communication, tactful collaboration, project management and influencing skills
Demonstrated problem solving skills with service orientation
Mature and pleasant personality with highly energetic and enthusiastic, with Proven Leadership Experience in leading a team of Sr Managers and Technical Engineers
Must be willing to travel frequently within SEA, East Asia, places where EM resides and any countries when needs arise
