  JOB DESCRIPTION Our client is actively searching for a Senior Occupational Therapist to join their team!

The responsibilities of this role are:
1.  Assess complex patient presentation in a specialised clinical area in a logical and sequential manner generating and testing multiple hypotheses
2.  Investigate, interpret and analyse patients’ problems directly and indirectly related to the conditions referred, demonstrating sound clinical reasoning
3.  Plan and implement comprehensive treatment – reflecting current available scientific evidence, ensuring patient safety and effectiveness of intervention.
4.  Educate patients and their families efficaciously and effectively regarding specific physical and/or mental disabilities, including evaluation of home and work environment and making appropriate recommendations.
5.  Monitor patients’ progress throughout treatment, prepare and maintain records and reports as appropriate, ensuring adherence to confidentiality requirements.
6.  Participate as an active member of the care team by attending relevant ward / unit rounds, clinics, meetings, etc. Take initiative to suggest and operationalize areas for improvement.
7.  Play a leadership role with the department or as a representative of the department; Deputise for HOD when assigned
8.  Develop strategic and clinical plans for area of specialization, so as to shape and facilitate achievement of Department Action Plans, collaborating with internal and external clients in a professional manner
9.  Lead and guide the development of clinical specialization and oversee training/development requirements of staff
10.  Supervise, mentor and manage performance of staff, so as to facilitate achievement of team, departmental and organisation’s goals and objectives
11.  Facilitate evidence based practice, analysis of clinical outcomes, and related research/improvement activities in department to elevate clinical standards
The ideal candidate will need to have the following qualities and experience:

1.  Degree in Occupational Therapy or its equivalent
2.  Preferably 5 years relevant for senior positions Good communications and interpersonal skills Prior experience in mentoring and training preferred for senior positions Must be fully vaccinated with COVID-19 vaccinations
