The Human Resource team plays an integral part in making the University a great place to work by implementing best-practice programmes to attract, recruit, develop, groom and retain our talents.  They are seeking a team member who is experienced in talent acquisition and business partnering to join their Human Resource Division.

The incumbent will focus on the recruitment of Research Staff to support Applied Research activities and provide HR consulting to the business.

The responsibilities of this role are:
  • Manage the full spectrum of daily HR operations including recruitment, salary recommendations, employee relations, grievance handling, staff engagement and advisory services on HR policies and procedures
  • Partner with Hiring Managers to identify, understand recruitment needs, develop job postings, work out hiring budgets and manage contract renewals
  • Coach and provide guidance to hiring managers in recruitment activities, people and performance management
  • Prepare claims documents along with the Principal Investigator, Grants Team, and Finance Division
  • Good stakeholder management skills and the ability to navigate in a dynamic and fluid environment while working individually and in a team
  • Participate in HR related projects such as process improvement, new technology adoption etc.
  • Generate recruiting metric and activity reports

The ideal candidate will need to have the following qualities and experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree in HR or a business-related field
    • At least 7 years of relevant work experience out of which 3 years were spent in talent acquisition or business partnering
    • Prior experience in hiring Research Staff and processing claims for grants is advantageous
    • Understand basic accounting principles, reporting and reconciliation.
    • Knowledge in the usage of HRIS systems such as SAP, Workday etc. is preferred
    • Good knowledge of Singapore employment laws and regulations, market practices and general business environment
    • Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals in a diverse community and possess the confidence to front different parties
    • Good critical thinking and analytical skills coupled with strong follow-through ability
    • Have a positive attitude, excellent interpersonal and rapport-building skills
