  JOB DESCRIPTION Our client is actively searching for a Tooling Design Senior Manager or Director to join their team!

CRITICAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Mold Tool Design & Development: 
  • Design and develop high-precision transfer Mold tools for semiconductor devices and automotive electronics (ECU, TCU, Sensors, Power Modules, inverters etc...)
  • Perform Mold flow analysis, thermal simulation, and warpage analysis to optimize encapsulation performance
  • Select materials, coatings, and tooling techniques to enhance Mold reliability and efficiency.
Process Optimization & Manufacturing Support:
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams, process engineers, and suppliers to ensure successful Mold tool implementation in high-volume production.
  • Improve Mold tooling strategies to reduce cycle time, enhance yield, and minimize defects.
Troubleshooting & Maintenance:
  • Diagnose and resolve Mold defects such as voids, flash, delamination, and warpage.
  • Implement preventive maintenance programs to extend Mold tool lifespan.
  • Work with tooling vendors and internal teams to drive continuous improvement in Mold design.
Trim & Form Tool Design (Preferred):
  • Design and develop trim & form tooling for post-Molding processes in semiconductor and automotive electronics manufacturing.
  • Optimize trim & form processes to minimize stress, deformation, and defects on encapsulated packages.
  • Ensure tooling compatibility with high-speed automated production lines.
Leadership & Technical Mentorship (Preferred):
  • Lead a team of Mold designers, and tooling specialists.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to improve team capabilities.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects to advance encapsulation and trim/form tooling technology.

The ideal candidate will need to have the following qualities and experience:
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Over 10 years of experience in tooling design, with leadership exposure.
  • Strong strategic thinking and business-oriented mindset.
  • Skilled in cross-functional collaboration and organizational agility.
  • Proven ability to drive results and build team capabilities.
  • Effective and inspiring leader with a hands-on approach.
